I saw a photo of a young woman playing with her child in an add for breast cancer awareness. Although I have no idea if the woman was a true survivor or not, the image inspired the painting. She displays the new found appreciation of life and family and the hope of the living admist the apprehension of what may come. In a way, she represents all of us. We are all survivors of something, and must find strength to continue, come what may.
