After my mother-in-law died, we found an old black and white photo of her that simply said on the back “almost 10”. It was nice to see her in better days as a vibrant happy child playing outside in the sun with a look of pure joy and innocence, completely unaware of the future. It also reminded me of what my grandma said about how she looks in the mirror and “doesn’t know who that old lady is”. She still feels like a little girl on the inside. I guess all grandmas are still little girls on the inside.
